Kinesiology Taping

Dr. Smith completed the course requirements of the Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) program in 2009.

Kinesio tape, or Kinesio Tex Gold, is a specially designed heat sensitive tape that offers the patient, or athlete, extra support and stability during rehabilitation.  Kinesio tape allows full range of motion during daily activities.  The Kinesio Taping Method is utilized by occupational therapists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, physicians, and chiropractors in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, high schools, universities, and both amateur and professional sports teams. The Kinesio Taping Method was developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase almost three decades ago and is the gold standard in therapeutic taping education.  Kinesio tape can be used for a range of conditions such as: Achilles tendonitis, bicep tendonitis, cervical and lumbar sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, deQuervains syndrome, elbow bursitis, headaches, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, patellar pain, scoliosis, and lymphedema.
